“Our Pleasure, (2023)” was selected by a panel from the Seattle LGBTQ+ Center to be included in the Pride in Seattle: 50th Anniversary Art Exhibit and at the Thursday Night Art Walk in Pioneer Square at the RailSpur Gallery Space. The inspiration for the piece struck after a shared moment of intimacy with a same sex partner. Using a mix of pen, oil pastels, acrylic paint, and watercolors, admiration for the muse bloomed on paper. The colors are intentionally reminiscent of the lesbian and bisexual pride flags. Stylized pen strokes define shapes and the illusion of depth across the piece. The simple use of empty space highlights the emotion of the memory.
