“Inside Your Shell” is a vibrantly saturated depiction of mussel shells’ nacreous interiors, which can be easily found on the sea shore. When I was younger, my siblings and I would refer to the bivalves as mermaid scales because of how beautiful and iridescent the insides were. This piece encourages a reflection on each individual’s unique identity and the marvel of biodiversity.
